| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA100052 of the 751st Air Group, 17th Section, who was captured near New Ireland on 22 February 1944. JA100052, a 1st Class Naval-Air Petty Officer, was aboard Nagaura Maru which was sunk by a US destroyer. JA100052 was taken from the sea by the destroyer crew. During the interrogation he provided information on cases of mechanical defects in Japanese aircraft in Vunakanau and the location of an airfield 25 to 30 miles north of Saigon. |
