Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue whihch is dated 1 February 1944 covers events such as the cancellation of the annual poetry reading ceremony due to the illness of the Emperor, the Spring session of Sumo wrestling, the 84th session of the Diet, the sinking of Japanese warships, the construction of a large airfield in Bougainville by the Allied Forces, the bombings of Rabaul and the defeat of the Japanese at Cape Gloucester and the Huon Peninsula. The situation in Europe is briefly covered. 50,000 of them were printed. |
