Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private OKAMOTO Juichi of the Koike Independent Motor Transport Unit, who was captured in Goodenough Island on 11 March 1943. OKAMOTO, a 23 year old Superior Private from Wakayama, was captured by Australian troops when he landed on the island after the sinking of his boat, Aiyo Maru. During the interrogation, OKAMOTO provided information on his units organisation and strength. He also told the interrogators about the topography of Kokopo. The report includes a hand-drawn map of Kokopo.
