Content: This item consists of several detailed reports compiled between July and August 1943, on sanitary conditions in the Ramu River district, by the 20th Division Infectious Disease and Water Supply Unit. The reports discuss issues concerning health and sanitation such as obtaining potable water, mosquito-borne illnesses, sewerage disposal, and the sanitary standards of local people. Several detailed maps show fresh water sources and list the best routes for transporting water, as well as indicating serious health hazards such as marshes and other mosquito-infested areas. There are also charts listing tropical diseases and their symptoms. This item was captured at Sio in June 1944
