Content: This item is a pictorial propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. The leaflet includes pictures showing the landing of the Allied Forces on Saipan, destroyed Japanese aeroplanes and tanks, damages to the railroad, factories and a sugar mill, and interned Japanese soldiers having a meal. On the back of the leaflet is a map of the Asia-Pacific region indicating that the Japanese mainland, Taiwan, the Philippines and New Guinea are all within the reach of American bombers from Saipan. A list of the major Japanese bases captured by the Allied Forces is also included in the map. 100,000 of them were printed. 65,000 of these leaflets were dispatched to Nadzab between 26 July and 15 August 1944 and 40,000 of them to Darwin between 15 July and 5 August 1944.
