Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private KOJO Seiji of the 3rd Debarkation Unit (Akatsuki 1948) 2nd Company 1st Platoon 2nd Section 1st Group, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 9 March 1943 after the sinking of Shinai Maru on 3 March. KOJO, a 38 year old Superior Private from Tottori, was captured by Australian troops as he and his colleagues were too exhausted to offer resistance. During the interrogation, KOJO provided information on unit organisation, morale in Japan and Allied attacks. |
