Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Kamiri airfield on Noemfoor Island on 3 July 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item contains maps and topographical descriptions of western New Guinea with a particular emphasis on the military possibilities of the various areas, from the standpoint of roads, rivers, billeting facilities, airfields, anchorages, food supplies, forests, natives, terrain, etc. Some of the localities includes are: Tanahmerah Bay (near Hollandia), the Vogelkop Peninsula, Geelvink Bay, Sorong, Manokwari, Kiamana and Digoel River.
