| Content: | This item is an official diary for the month of October 1943, recording the activities of the 222nd Infantry Regiment Infantry Gun Detachment, while stationed at Qinyuen in Shanxi, China. It contains a list of unit members and their ranks, as well as daily orders and reports concerning unit activities and duties such as maintenance of unit horses, riding practice, fodder collection, maintenance of barrack stables, surveillance and local patrol duties, and the receipt and transport of weapons. The diary also mentions preparations for the transferral of some unit members to the 131st Infantry Regiment. It was captured at Hansa Bay in July 1944. |
