Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for CHANG Yock, who was captured in a palm plantation in the Buna area in January 1943. CHANG, a 24 year old labourer from Canton, surrendered to the Australian troops unarmed. During the interrogation, he gave information that he had been seized by the Japanese in Kowloon and shipped to New Guinea via Palembang. He did not know much about his unit as he had spent his time in New Guinea contructing timber shelters.
