Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. This issues is dated on 17 August 1943. It reports on the Genrôs' (elder statesmen) meeting called by Prime Minister TÔJÔ, the resignation of Mussolini and its impact on Japanese politics, General YAHAGI's statement on the war situation, the fall of Munda, the number of planes and vessels lost by Japan, and the Independence of Burma. It also discusses the war situation in Europe against Germany and the warfare in the Mediterranean. 50,000 of them were printed. |
