| Content: | This item is a record of service for Superior Private YOSHIDA Kunihiro of the 78th Infantry Regiment 1st Infantry Gun Detachment, who died of malaria in the 20th Division 2nd Field Hospital at Marienberg in January 1944. As well as the date and cause of death, the document lists YOSHIDA's service record in the Imperial Army, beginning with his induction into the 78th Infantry Regiment Conscript Reserve 1st Machine Gun Company in 1941. YOSHIDA subsequently took part in military operations at Palau before landng with his unit at Hansa Bay in May 1943. This item was captured at Anamo in July 1944. |
