| Content: | This item is an official diary for the month of September 1943, recording the activities of the 222nd Infantry Regt 1st Machine Gun Coy while stationed at Qinyuen in Shanxi, China. It contains lists of unit members and their horses, as well as daily reports and orders concerning unit activities such as the transport and receipt of supplies, transport of casualties, maintenance of unit horses, road-building, training & education of new recruits, and surveillance exercises. The diary also contains news of enemy attacks and regional campaigns, and details of medical and dental treatment received by unit members. It was captured at Hansa Bay in July 1944. |
