Content: This item is an official diary for the month of August 1943, recording the activities of the 222nd Infantry Regiment Pom-Pom Gun Company while stationed at Qinxian in Shanxi, China. It contains various lists of unit members and their assigned duties, as well as daily orders and reports concerning the education and training of the unit, including activities such as artillery drill, weapons maintenance and transport by horse-drawn vehicles, surveillance and patrol duties, and preparation for unit inspections. The diary also mentions communications and dispatches between this unit and the 36th Division Ordinance Department, and at the back of the diary is a transcript of the formal initiation address to new unit members. It was captured at Hansa Bay in 1944.
