Content: This item is a hand-drawn contour map of East Papua dated May 1943, and titled "Madang to Port Moresby." Rivers on the map are overdrawn in blue pencil, and some locations, including those in the title, are marked in red. At the bottom of the map is a legend for details such as private airstrips, field radio stations and harbours. This item was possibly used by the 51st Division prior to the Allied landing at Finschhafen in September 1943. It was captured at Sattelberg in November 1944.
