Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue is dated on 1 August 1943. It reports the death of Marquis OKUBO Toshitake, the visit of Prime Minister TÔJÔ to Siam, Malaya, the Netherlands East Indies and the Philippines, the Allied landing on New Georgia Island, the bombing of Japanese positions in the Solomons and the Japanese warships being sunk off New Georgia Island. This issue also covers the situation in Europe, including the resignation of Mussolini, the Allied landing on Sicily and the difficulties faced by the Germans in Russia. 50,000 of them were printed. |
