Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA147003 of the 53rd Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 4th Company, who was captured in Tuluvu on 15 November 1943. JA147003, a 21 year old 1st Class Private from Hyôgo, was wounded in his leg and unconscious when he was captured by US troops in Sumeru near Tuluvu. During the interrogation, JA147003 provided information on unit organisation, movements, Gokoku Maru which transported his unit to Rabaul from Shanghai, and social conditions in Japan. A diagram of Gokoku Maru is included.
