Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Seaman (Fireman) JA147446 of the 81st Garrison Unit (posted to DD Mochizuki in February 1943), who was captured by natives near Jacquinot Bay and turned over to a US landing force on 21 April 1944. JA147446, a 20 year old Superior Seaman from Saga Prefecture, provided information on the specification and movements of DD Mochizuki, convoys between Rabaul, Jacquinot Bay and the Shortland Islands, anti-aircraft defences at Jacquinot Bay and damage to the DD Mochizuki by Allied bombing in August 1943.
