Content: This Japanese-language propaganda leaflet was produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office at the end of the Pacific War. An English translation of the text is attached. It states that major Japanese cities have been bombed heavily and that Iwojima has fallen to the Allies. A prominent Japanese critic, TOKUTOMI Sohô, had said that the fall of Saipan was crucial to Japan, and that the consequences of the loss of oil fields in Balikpapan and Milli will not affect the course of war. Thus, it urges Japanese troops to surrender to the Allies instead of wasting their lives.
