Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Hollandia on 30 April 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. The full title of this item is "Intelligence reports (3 Air Army: 4th Fleet Headquarters) covering combat tactics of American submarines: lessons in jungle warfare: Moluccan wireless station: raids by B-17's and B-24's". This item contains various intelligence reports between August and November 1943, issued by 3rd Air Army Intelligence and 4th Fleet Headquarters. The reports concern the following subjects: the tactical methods employed by US submarines, radar disturbances and communicaton interference during Allied air attack, combat lessons learnt from the Baikoro (location unknown) area, a description and map of Moluccan state-operated wireless service in the Dutch East Indies, and a map showing bombing raids by B-17's and B-24's in the Aleutian area between July and August 1943.

This item revealed information about Japanese understanding of Allied combat tactics and weaponry. It also revealed the extent of Japanese knowledge about Allied control of the radio network broadcasting in the Dutch East Indies.
