Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private WATANABE Yoshio `of the Independent Sea Duty Unit 1st Company 2nd Platoon 1st Section, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 6 April 1943. WATANABE, a 32 year old Superior Private from Nagoya, reached on an island with others on 10 March after the sinking of Teiyo Maru. He was suffering from malaria when he was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, WATANABE provided information on the unit organisation, duties of his unit, and conditions in Japan,
