Content: This item is a 1942 Japanese enlargement of a 1928 American map of the US. naval base at Guam. The map covers the whole of Guam Island, showing details such as reefs, harbours, mountains, roads and towns. These features are labelled in English, with Japanese notes added concerning details such as tides and prevailing winds. This item was captured at Buna, probably in 1944.
