Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Corporal JA147018 of the 238th Regiment 1st Battalion 3rd Company, who was captured near Kiari on 5 February 1944 by US troops. JA147018 was ill with malaria when he was captured. During the interrogation, he provided information on disease in the South-West Pacific Area, Allied air raids, the Airplane Technician School near Tokyo and the possible employment of 500 Allied prisoners of war at Inoshima Shipyards, Hiroshima Prefecture.
