Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Medical 2nd Lieutenant NAKAJIMA Hajime of the 21st Independent Mixed Brigade, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 11 March 1943. NAKAJIMA, a 31 year old Medical 2nd Lieutenant from Kyoto, was drifting in a collapsible boat after the sinking of Oigawa Maru, when he was captured by an Australian patrol boat. During the interrogation, NAKAJIMA provided information on morale in Japan, medical services, and the system for evacuating sick and injured.
