Content: This item is a collection of machine gun shooting contest results and health reports, circa April 1943, for an unnamed army unit stationed at Biak. The shooting contest results are recorded in charts, with numerical scores for height, speed, accuracy and attention to safety awarded against the name of each participant. There are also individual training assessments for a few soldiers in this collection, recording machine gun accuracy over various distances, as well as a two-page set of instructions concerning the correct way to educate soldiers in machine gun usage. The health reports take the form of individual charts, with comments recorded against categories such as "Sight," "Strength," "Appetite," and so on. This item was captured at Biak in July 1944.
