Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at an unknown location on 19 June 1944. This item is a report of operations of MO Signal Unit (18th Army), including recollections of Lieutenant-Colonel UCHIDA on signal operations in New Guinea and New Britain between 1 December and February 1944. It contains information on the general military situation in the South-West Pacific theatre, the movements of the Army Signals Unit, training, health, equipment, transportation and a summary of the Unit's operations in New Guinea (including their movement from Manchuria to Rabaul. This item also contains various charts and tables on wire communications networks, materiel distribution, occurrences of disease and ordnance repairs.
