Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The message firstly reminds Japanese soldiers in the Pacific of the time before leaving Japan when they were full of hope and pride, and then compares that with the current situation in which they are repeatedly air-raided, have few supplies and suffer from malaria. The message states that all the dreams Japanese soldiers had before leaving for the South have completely disappeared. It stresses that defeat is an inevitable end to the war, which was not desired by the Emperor but instigated by the arbitrary decision of the military clique. 100,000 of them were printed.
