Content: | This item is a report on the 2nd Working Group's work for the Australian forces. It reports that the relationship between Australian supervising staff and Japanese workers is sound, although lack of qualified interpreters often makes communication difficult. It is also mentioned that some of the low-ranking Australian soldiers are violent, while senior officers were generally courteous towards Japanese workers. The report emphasises the need for Japanese senior officers who can act as interpreters. |
