Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private M159 of the 80th Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 4th Company 1st Platoon 1st Section, who was captured in Tambu on 1 September 1943. M159, a 21 year old Superior Private from Osaka, was wounded and left behind by his unit during a scouting patrol. He was captured by local people and turned over to Australian troops. He was a sniper. During the interrogation, M159 provided information on his unit organisation, rifles, sniper training and morale.
