Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda newspaper produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. This issue which is dated on 4 October 1943, covers the latest news from Japan, such as the death of NAGATA Hidejirô and the amalgamation of the Ministry of Commerce and Industry and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the proposal to establish the Ministry of Munitions. The bulletin also reports the advance of the Allied Forces in New Guinea, the landing of the Australians near Finschhafen, the attacks on the Japanese airfields atCape Gloucester, Gasmata and Finschhafen, the failed air attack of the Japanese naval planes, the bombing of Japanese airfields in the Wewak area, the Allied attack on the Gilbert Islands, the capture of the Ellice Islands and the attack on a Japanese convoy in Bougainville Straits. It also touches on the situation in Europe, including the defeat of Germany in Russia and the fall of major cities in Italy. 100,000 of them were printed.
