Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Los Negros Island on 10 May 1944 during the campaign for the Admiralty Islands. This item is a notebook containing information and sketches of a Type 96 22 mm machine-cannon, written by 2nd Class Petty Officer MATSUI Motoyoshi, Leader 4th Training Section, 48th Division. It contains notes on the general operation and history of the machine-cannon firing mechanism, the fundamentals of the synchronising mechanism, mechanical functions and methods of handling and precautions.
