Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA145608 of the 66th Infantry Regiment Replacement Unit, who was captured in Finschhafen on 2 October 1943. JA145608, a 21 year old 1st Class Private from Tochigi, was suffering from malaria and could not keep up with his unit when he was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, JA145608 provided information on his unit organisation, movements, conditions in the military in New Guinea and the economic situation in Japan.
