Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Superior Private M138 of the 50th Anti-Aircraft Battalion 3rd Company Headquarters Platoon Observation Section, who was captured in the Trobriand Islands on 21 March 1943. M138, a 24 year old Superior Private from Hokkaido, was captured by Allied troops while proceeding from one island to another after the sinking of Oigawa Maru. During the interrogation, M138 provided information on his unit organisation and movements, and extensive information on observation methods and equipment. Sketches of observation equipment and calculation boards are attached to the report.
