Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Seaman JA145598 of the 5th Sasebo Special Naval Landing Party 5th Company 2nd Platoon 1st Section, who was captured near Lae on 26 September 1943. JA145598, a 22 year old 1st Class Seaman from Ehime, was very ill and not aware of his whereabouts when he was captured near Lae by Australian troops. He was a member of the Tsukioka Unit. During the interrogation, JA145598 provided general information on unit movements, and morale in Japan. |
