Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The leaflet describes the defeats of the Japanese forces in the Solomons and compares the realities with the Japanese Navy's propaganda claiming a great victory in the region. It also mentions the propaganda by the Japanese about the retreat from Guadalcanal, which was described by the Japanese government as a change of direction for the advance. The message states that it is obvious to the Japanese troops at the front lines in New Guinea that the Japanese military leaders are deceiving the public about the real situation of the war. It urges the Japanese soldiers to reflect on the matter in order to understand that they are fighting a useless war. 100,000 of them were printed. |
