Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA147030 of the 53th Infantry Regiment 1st Company, who was captured in Kokopo in the western New Britain on 4 February 1944. JA147030, a 23 year old 1st Class Private from Hyôgo, was suffering from malaria and resting in a local hut when he was captured by Australian troops after the Allied landing on Natamo. During the interrogation, JA147030 provided information on unit organisation and movement and answered the standard set of questions. |
