Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) supplementary interrogation report for Corporal JA147018 of the 238th Regiment 1st Battalion 3rd Company, who was captured near Kiari on 5 February 1944 by US troops. JA147018 was ill with malaria when he was captured. During the interrogation, he provided information on army life, living conditions in Japan, attitudes towards capture and the war, attitudes towards other races, exposure to Allied propaganda leaflets, morale and access to radio broadcasts and news of the war. |
