Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for Civilian Employee ISHIDA Nobukatsu of Taimei Maru, who was captured in the Trobriand Islands on 9 March 1943. ISHIDA, a 19 year old Civilian Employee who worked as a stoker on Taimei Maru was from Fukushima. He and 28 others reached an island on a boat after the sinking of Taimei Maru. They had three serviceable rifles among them, but all except three were killed when they were attacked while they were sheltering in a local hut. During the interrogation, ISHIDA provided information on the movements of Taimei Maru October 1942 till its sinking in March 1943, equipment on board, conditions in Japan and his view on being captured.
