Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The message takes the form of a letter supposedly written by a Japanese prisoner of war at Torokina. He criticises the Japanese military rulers who are still forcing people to sacrifice their lives, while they are fully aware that Japan has no chance of winning the war. He stresses that he and his fellow prisoners of war have been treated well by the Australians and encourages members of the 6th Division to surrender rather than to die in action. |
