Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. The message on the leaflet encourages the Japanese troops to surrender to the Australian forces rather than to continue the hopeless war. It mentions that 41 officers and men from the 1st Independent Mixed Battalion surrendered at Wewak on 3 May 1945 and are now in Australia, recuperating to serve the new Japan after the war. The message concludes by urging the recipient to surrender so as to live and work for the future of Japan.
