Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The attached English translation indicates that this leaflet was produced at the request of Colonel Murphy, USAFIP. The leaflet has a tactical map indicating Japanese and American positions in the Vigan area on one side. A message to the Japanese forces in the area states that the situation is becoming increasingly unfavourable for the Japanese on Luzon. The message urges the Japanese to surrender so as to live for the future of Japan, since there is no hope that friendly forces will come to rescue them. The message questions whether it is true loyalty to go on dying from hunger and disease without even fighting properly.
