Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) translation of a Japanese publication captured at Noemfoor Island on 2 July 1944 during the Allied attacks on Japanese positions in northern Dutch New Guinea, which were intended to isolate the 18th Army at Wewak. This item contains personal memoranda regarding the selection of Reserve Officer candidates for 1944, issued by the 5th Shipping Transport Chief of Staff and addressed to the 3rd Field Shipping Depot Commanding Officer between 10 and 12 February 1944. It describes the regulations, selection procedures and eligibility requirements of reserve candidates. |
