Content: This item is a letter from the Chief of Staff of the South East Area Army to his counterpart in the 8th Military District regarding the transfer of remaining Japanese forces to the 5th and 10th Camps. It contains a carbon copy of the original letter dated 3 April and a draft of the letter in Japanese. General IMAMURA was instructed by the Commander-in-Chief of the 8th Military District to assemble remaining Japanese servicemen at the 5th and 10th Camps. An attached list specifies the units to be transferred to the 5th or the 10th Groups, the camp groups these units currently belong to and the order in which the transfer should take place. The letter also recommends Colonel MATSUHISA to be appointed as the Head of the 10th Group, while Colonel SAKAMOTO was to remain the Head of the 5th Group.
