Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private SUKITA Yoshio of the 8th Shipping Engineer Regiment 2nd Company 1st Platoon, who was captured on Goodenough Island on 9 April 1943. SUKITA, a 23 year old 1st Class Private from Nagasaki, reached an island after Taimei Maru was sunk on 3 March. He was captured by Australian troops. During the interrogation, SUKITA provided brief information on unit organisation. The interrogation was brief as he was considered to have little knowledge of military matters other than road construction and maintenance and cleaning of landing craft. |
