Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private JA147008 of the 17th Division 53rd Infantry Regiment 1st Battalion 4th Company 2nd Platoon 4th Section, who was captured at Cape Gloucester on 8 January 1944. JA147008, a 21 year old 1st Class Private from Hyôgo, was wounded but managed to climb out of the trench when he was captured by US troops. During the interrogation, JA147008 provided information on unit organisation, movements, Gokoku Maru in which he was transported to Rabaul from Shanghai, and training against chemical warfare.
