Content: This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for JA147296 of the 6th Navigation Aid Unit 1st Company 1st Platoon 2nd Section, who was captured in Kometto on 28 March 1944. JA147296, a 22 year old Superior Private from Fukushima Prefecture, was ill with malaria when he was captured by local villagers and handed to US Marines. During the interrogation, JA147296 provided information on movmements, his unit's tasks, and Garove Island. A sketch of "Chi" No. 1 Model 2 (radio) directional finder and a sketch map of the Nakajima Airplane Company are included. He stated that he had developed a fatalistic attitude towards capture and was glad he was cut off from the war.
