Content: This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office during the Second World War. An English translation of the text is attached. The message, supposedly written by a Japanese prisoner of war, expresses his concern about his comrades' health. He alleges that the majority of commanders are self-centred enough to keep their men's rations for themselves. He emphasises that the defeat of Japan is inevitable and that the most important thing is to inform the Japanese people of the misery of this war so that the same mistake will not be made by the next generation. 25,000 of them were printed. All of these leaflets were dispatched to Hollandia on 22 January 1945.
