Content: | This item is a Japanese-language propaganda leaflet produced by the Far Eastern Liaison Office. The leaflet includes three pictures featuring American soldiers and people on Okinawa. The message in Japanese reports the return of peace to Okinawa. The message stresses that the treatment of Japanese people by American servicemen is different from what many Japanese have been made to believe by the government's propaganda. The message asks the recipient to see from the case of Okinawa that the term "unconditional surrender" does not mean the extermination of the Japanese race. |
