| Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 2nd Class Engineering Petty Officer JA100044 of Yûgumo, who was captured near Kolombangara on 7 October 1943. JA100044, a 22 year old 2nd Class Petty Officer from Fukushima, was rescued from the sea by a US patrol torpedo boat after the sinking of Yûgumo. During the interrogation, JA100044 provided brief information on his unit, movements, Yûgumo and social conditions in Japan. A sketch map of Yokosuka is attached. |
