Content: | This item consists of an official war diary and operations orders for the 4th stage of the "R" operation and is dated 12 October 1943. The "R" operation was launched by the Naval Air Corps in early October and was aimed at decreasing Allied air strength in the region. War diaries contain a detailed daily record of a unit's activities. They were intended to be submitted monthly through the command structure to Imperial HQ, though in practice many were destroyed in the field or kept with the unit. |
