Content: | This is an Allied Translator and Interpreter Section (ATIS) interrogation report for 1st Class Private KAWACHIDA Tagayasu of the 2nd Shipping Regiment Headquarters 15th Company 6th Platoon 2nd Section (Akatsuki 2954), who was captured on Goodenough Island on 6 April 1943. KAWACHIDA, a 24 year old 1st Class Private from Osaka, was captured on the island by Australian troops after he and his companions were stranded there after the sinking of Kenbu Maru on 3 March. During the interrogation, KAWACHIDA provided information on his unit organisation, ships and supplies, Type 98 machine cannon, training, morale in Japan.
